FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Why these 2 ministries? Why
not others?
We wanted to provide you with the idea of donating your new or old PC to a
Christian charity. These are good charities, but there are also many more. These
two ministries fit a good profile to be included in IBCN recommendations:
(A) They are
inter-denominational and Bible-based.
(B) They have great financial integrity.
(C) They are efficient at doing something productive,
which
is directly impacting the poor children of the world
(feeding,
clothing, and educating).
2. Can I suggest my favorite
ministry to also be listed?
Not at this time. We didn't want to be busy checking-out and listing various ministries.
This is just a starting point to get you thinking of possibilities. Feel free to
tell your friends and co-workers of other worthy ministries.
3. How do I know if a ministry
is financially accountable?
Here are a few suggestions:
(A) Are they listed with the Evangelical Council for Financial
Accountability? Here's an example for Compassion
International.
(B) Do
they report their financial information to Charity watch-dog groups, such as the
American Institute of Philanthropy
(Compassion is top ranked, click
here to see), or the Better Business Bureau (click
here to see Compassion's information)?
(C) Do they make their financial forms
available, such as our Form 990s and Report of Independant Certified Public
Accountants? Here's an example for Compassion
International.
Notes:
* Consumers Digest's "1999
Annual Buying Guide" gave Compassion International an "A"
rating, as well as ranking it as the top 14th best at "being
charitable" (spending it's money on it's intended purposes).
** Matthew 19:13-14
Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on
them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus
said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.
Matthew 25:31-46
When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he
will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the
people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
